Macy’s Women’s History Month Wrap-Up

Throughout March, Macy’s customers donated more than $1.3 million to Girls Inc. through online donations and receipt round-ups from more than 500 stores! Girls Inc. is grateful for the extraordinary support. 37 Girls Inc. affiliates attended in-store rallies to teach Macy's associates about the Girls Inc. mission and encourage support. Overall, in four years, this national campaign has generated over $5.7 million to prepare nearly 220,000 girls to successfully pursue their college and career aspirations. These will be the young women our future workforce needs.

Here are some highlights from the 2023 campaign:

  • 35 affiliates and CEO & President Stephanie Hull attended 40 store rallies to teach Macy's associates about the Girls Inc. mission and programs.

  • Girls Inc. DC engaged with staff from Macy’s at Montgomery Mall and Girls Inc. DC girls participated in a Style Your Way fashion show in celebration of Women’s History Month. See pictures from the fashion show.

  • Nearly 80 girl participants attended a Macy’s virtual career panel on March 21st. Panelists represented a diverse group of Macy’s professionals, and attendees included Girls Inc. of Orange County, Alameda County, Pacific Northwest, Greater Houston, Tarrant County and Pinellas. Macy’s provided nearly $8,000 in gift cards to the attendees, and will be available to help give girls style ideas and tips to help maximize the money.

Thank you, Macy’s, for supporting our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold!
