Girls Inc. WDCMA Summer Program!

Our College-Bound Girls! Summer 2010 Enrichment Program is for middle-school girls ages 11 to 14 and promotes girls’ academic, social and emotional well-being in an atmosphere of fun, focus and girl-time. Activities cover health, wellness, and sexuality; economic and financial literacy; math, science and technology; violence prevention; media literacy; sports; leadership development and advocacy; and "Adventure Girls" field trips and excursions.

College-Bound Girls! begins June 28 and runs until August 6, 2010, Monday to Friday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the new Girls Inc. Center at Howard University, 2455 4th St., NW.

First Lady Michelle Obama to Serve as Honorary Board Chair for Girls Inc

First Lady Michelle Obama has agreed to serve as the Honorary Board Chair of Girls Inc. In this role, Mrs. Obama will lend her support to the ongoing work of Girls Inc., particularly around creating opportunities and resources for girls to learn and grow, to navigate the unique challenges they face growing up, and to discover their potential as leaders with the courage and vision to change the world.
