Denese Lombardi, M.A., Executive Director
Ms. Lombardi has an extensive career of youth advocacy and service to at-risk children and families beginning in New Haven, Connecticut and since 1977, here in the Washington, DC. Metropolitan Area. With an undergraduate degree from Boston College and a graduate degree from the University of Connecticut, she has been a classroom teacher, school administrator, trainer, staff development director and senior program manager. She has chaired committees focused on systemic change, written policies and procedures, hired, trained and supervised educators and mental health providers and has coordinated workshops and events focusing on the needs of at-risk children and families. Ms. Lombardi has established and participated in program partnerships on behalf of underserved children and families and has been employed by both private non-profit and public institutions including the DC Public Schools, Local Education and State Education Agencies. As Executive Director, Ms. Lombardi is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the exceptional programs of Girls Incorporated to the deserving girls of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
